Picket Fence: Yay or Nay?

There's no denying that the classic white picket fence is a home border staple signifying the American dream. Giving any property a quaint look, this fencing style is still popular among many. Are you one of them?

Today picket fences can come in vinyl or wood and can be many different colors. While cedar wood provides a natural look and can easily be painted, vinyl can give you the same beloved look with half the maintenance (and for a tad higher cost).

A few other factors homeowners installing a picket fence have to address include fence style, picket style and height. Though picket fences are known for their shortness, options still range anywhere from 3 to 5 feet. At the same time, all pickets can either be equal height or vary throughout the length of your fencing.

  1. . There are a complex of different fences which all come together to give our limitless, rolling landscape a false sense of borders and edges. Some of those borders are exclusive. Some are meant to protect, shelter, or include. And all of them have strong cultural valences to them just like the buck fence. cedar fence installation
